The Arizona Coyotes are trying to make their games available to more and more fans on television by moving the broadcasts to a new channel in Phoenix.
The team announced on Thursday that together with the E.W. Scripps Company, Coyotes games will air on KASW/Arizona 61, an independent station available over the air, on DirecTV, and on Cox cable locally.
“We are so excited to be able to reach more fans than ever before,” team chairman and governor Alex Meruelo said. “This is a continued step in the direction of super-serving Coyotes Hockey here in the desert, the best fans in the world. We couldn’t be happier to be working together with a great partner like Scripps Sports and continue showing our commitment to make hockey thrive in the desert.”
The Coyotes will simulcast the two upcoming games against the Kings and Blues on both Arizona 61 and on channel 15.2 to help fans transition to Arizona 61.
With the switch, Coyotes games are now more accessible across Arizona. The channel is available in Flagstaff, Bullhead City/Lake Havasu, Maricopa, Pinal County, Prescott, Sedona, and Show Iow/Winslow.
64 of the remaining 65 Arizona Coyotes games this season will now be widely available on local free and paid TV.
