CBS Sports Radio Moves Zach Gelb and JR Sportbrief to New Timeslots, Adds Bart Winkler for Nights

CBS Sports Radio has revealed a new programming lineup entering the new year, which will take effect on January 2nd. Zach Gelb will be moving to the afternoon drive timeslot, appearing on the air from 3 to 6 PM ET, continuing his run with the national broadcast outlet he joined in 2018.

Before working at CBS Sports Radio, Gelb hosted programming for SportsRadio 94WIP in Philadelphia and WFAN in New York, along with SiriusXM, 97.5 The Fanatic, and 920 ESPN New Jersey in Trenton.

Gelb has been hosting from 6 to 10 PM ET, a timeslot that will now be occupied by Julian “J.R.” Jackson with his JR Sportbrief program. Jackson joined the radio lineup in 2020 after he had worked as an update anchor and fill-in host at WFAN, which was preceded by time co-hosting morning drive on V-103 WVEE-FM in Atlanta. Additionally, he operates an online sports blog by the same name that has accumulated more than 80 million views online.

Bart Winkler will occupy the 10 PM to 2 AM ET timeslot previously held by Jackson, marking his first regular weekday national program with the outlet. Before beginning his work with CBS Sports Radio in 2022, Winkler hosted the morning show on 1250 AM The Fan in Milwaukee before it removed all local programming last year. He also previously worked as the program director and morning host for K107.1 WFON-FM in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. Amy Lawrence follows Winkler on the air from 2 to 6 AM ET.

“This new lineup reinforces the network’s commitment to delivering around-the-clock sports coverage, connecting fans nationwide with expert analysis, compelling interviews, and premier sports commentary,” CBS Sports Radio Brand Manager and Audacy Sports Format Vice President Spike Eskin said in a statement. “We look forward to kicking off the new year with this improved weekday programming slate.”

The remainder of the CBS Sports Radio lineup remains intact featuring Maggie Gray and Andrew Perloff in morning drive, a timeslot they occupied upon the departure of Damon Amendolara when he joined SiriusXM Mad Dog Sports Radio earlier this year. Following Maggie & Perloff is Bill Reiter from 10 AM to 12 PM ET and Jim Rome from 12 to 3 PM ET. Rome’s program is also simulcast on CBS Sports Network.
