On Friday’s episode of The Pat McAfee Show, the former NFL punter alleged someone inside ESPN — specifically naming Senior Vice President of Event and Studio Production Norby Williamson — is attempting to “sabotage” his program.
McAfee alleged that Williamson shared incorrect numbers about the program’s ratings with the New York Post’s Andrew Marchand in an attempt to make him and the show look bad. In Marchand’s report, he alleged McAfee had lost nearly 60% of his lead-in audience from First Take.
Sports media was quick to react to the bombshell allegations by McAfee, with some commenters shocked while others applauded the move.
Several former ESPN employees appeared to agree or back McAfee’s comments about leaks from Williamson.
And one former ESPN host and anchor acknowledged prior issues with Williamson but took aim at McAfee.
