Earlier this week, MSNBC refused to air a speech from former President Donald Trump after his victory in the Iowa Caucus. Howie Carr said that wasn’t the most shocking part of their admission.
During his Morning Minute Thursday, Carr took exception not only to the “censorship” by MSNBC, but also the brazen admission from Maddow that it will continue.
“The worst part of MSNBC’s censorship of Donald Trump is not that Rachel Maddow unabashedly admits to it on live television. It’s that she admits to a pattern of it,” said Carr. “For eight years now, the deep state operatives in the media have been filtering what is said by the former president, and they will come right out and tell you.”
While announcing the network wouldn’t air Trump’s victory speech, Maddow argued “There is a reason that we and other news organizations have generally stopped giving an unfiltered Live platform to remarks by former President Trump it is not out of spite it is not a decision that we relish it is a decision that we regularly revisit and honestly earnestly it is not an easy decision. But there is a cost to us as a news organization of knowingly broadcasting untrue things.”
In response, Howie Carr claimed Maddow “and her fellow comrades” are fearful of Trump.
“(They) are afraid Trump’s raw words might inspire you but they’re afraid he might rekindle your patriotic spark. They’re afraid you might like him! They’ll suppress the opposition before they have any of that,” Carr concluded.
