The San Diego Padres have a new TV personality joining their roster. Today, sideline reporter and host Mariluz Cook announced she will be joining the Padres’ TV Network in those two positions for the 2024 season.
“Thank you, thank you, thank you to God, my family, my Montag Group team, and to everyone who has supported my work,” Cook said via a post on her X account. “Endlessly grateful, extremely excited.”
Cook is a sports broadcaster who has done hosting duties for a variety of sports teams and leagues in the Utah area, including the 2023 NBA All-Star Weekend, the NBA’s Utah Jazz, and the ECHL’s Utah Grizzlies. She previously worked as a sports anchor and sideline reporter for KSL 5 TV as a sideline reporter and halftime show host. She also worked as a producer for Athletes Unlimited’s 2023 Basketball Season in Dallas, Texas. Outside of sports, she is also the reigning and defending Miss Utah USA.
Cook will join returning play-by-play man Don Orsillo, who will call games alongside former Padre Mark Grant. Former MLB pitcher Bob Scanlan returns to provide analysis and reports. The Padres season begins on Mar. 20 against the rival Dodgers in South Korea. They return home on Mar. 28 to face the San Francisco Giants.
