SiriusXM host Megyn Kelly unveiled exclusive text messages earlier this week regarding Fulton County DA Fani Willis and her alleged affair. CNN reported similar conversations after Kelly, and the former cable news host took the network to task for the snub. However, she has since given the outlet credit for amending its coverage.
On Wednesday, Kelly read text messages from witnesses to the alleged improper relationship between Willis and Nathan Wade, who she subsequently hired to help prosecute former President Donald Trump.
After CNN released a report with similar content calling it an exclusive report, Kelly took the cable giant to task for its reporting on social media, saying the network was “embarrassing” itself.
The network later corrected its report to credit Kelly for first reporting the story, which led to the SiriusXM host thanking the outlet.
“CNN finally updated its reporting to not only reflect that its story on the texts between Ashley merchant and Terence Bradley — which we read to you in full yesterday — was not an ‘exclusive,’ as they had posted on their website last night hours after we had broken it, but finally added after I publicly shamed them on X for not mentioning that we had broken it, added ‘Megyn Kelly first reported the texts Wednesday afternoon on her Sirius XM show.’
“So I gotta say, CNN, good for you,” said Kelly. “I publicly shamed you. But it’s fine. You did the right thing in the end, so I forgive you. It only took the public shaming in 14 hours but right on, we’ll take what we can get.”
She continued by noting the Atlanta Journal-Constitution had yet to amend its report, saying that despite her disgust with the outlet, she often cites their reporting as a “professional courtesy.”
