iHeartMedia San Diego has tabbed longtime Assistant Program Director and Executive Producer Mary Ayala as the new Program Director of 600 KOGO and The Patriot AM 1360.
“This is an exciting time to be taking over the Program Director position for these brands. Each station has its own distinct flavor, and all of them are filled with great talent I’m looking forward to working with,” said Mary Ayala.
“Mary has been a part of our cluster for many years and is more than ready to take the lead role of our Talk stations,” added iHeartMedia San Diego Market President Noreen Ippolito. “She’s smart, experienced and incredibly detailed with her work.”
Ayala steps into the role vacated when Brian Long exited the cluster last summer to become the Director of Programming Operations at Bonneville International’s Phoenix cluster, which includes KTAR News 92.3.
According to her profile on LinkedIn, Ayala has been with the stations in San Diego since 1983. In addition to her role with the two news/talk brands in the cluster, Ayala will also oversee San Diego Sports 760.
Mary Ayala will report to iHeartMedia San Diego Vice President of Programming Taylor Jukes, who joined the group last week.
