Yahoo Sports has announced that it is adding three new college basketball analysts to its rotation. Former NCAA champion and NBA star Danny Green, three-time NCAA Final Four participant Ros Gold-Onwude and three-time NCAA Tournament participant Isis Young are all going to be part of the outlet’s March Madness coverage this year, adding new chapters within their sports media careers. Yahoo Sports will be on-site from both Final Four locations and begin presenting content featuring the new analysts on Tuesday, March 19.
Although Green has yet to officially retire from the National Basketball Association, he has not played in a game since being waived by the Philadelphia 76ers last November. While playing for the Memphis Grizzlies, he inked a deal with ESPN to appear on air as a part-time analyst. Moreover, he currently hosts his own podcast, titled Inside the Green Room with Danny Green, which is co-hosted by Harrison Sanford. He will work with analyst Jason Fitz and NBA Draft analyst Krysten Peek to cover the men’s tournament through visual media.
Gold-Onwude has worked for a variety of national outlets over the last several years, including TNT and ESPN, and shared her excitement of joining Yahoo Sports in a post on LinkedIn. She was a member of the Stanford women’s basketball team and played in three Final Fours during her career, along with two National Championship Games. In 2010, Gold-Onwude was named the Pac-10 Co-Defensive Player of the Year. Since transitioning to a sports media career, she has performed a variety of different roles, including hosting, analysis and sideline reporting.
Young played basketball at Syracuse University and has NCAA tournament experience as well. After graduation, she founded Your World Enterprises, LLC, a sports media company that works with clients to provide media training and broadcast coaching. She and Gold-Onwude will work with Yahoo Sports women’s college basketball reporter Cassandra Negley to produce video coverage during the course of the tournament. Additionally, Gold-Onwude will be covering the tournament for Westwood One Radio, part of which includes working as the sideline reporter for the Women’s Final Four in Cleveland, Ohio.
