SportsNet Pittsburgh has announced the launch of SNP 360, a direct-to-consumer streaming service offering fans of the Pittsburgh Pirates and Pittsburgh Penguins access for $18 per month.
“Our desire has been to reach fans wherever they are and give them options to access our clubs’ telecasts,” Sean McGrail, the CEO of SportsNet Pittsburgh, said in a statement. “There are many people now who don’t subscribe a linear TV bundle, and we wanted to make sure they had the opportunity to engage with our teams and be part of the fan base.”
SNP 360 makes its debut as other regional sports channels have begun to offer live sports streaming services outside of the traditional cable bundle. Recently, the YES Network and MSG Networks also launched their own streaming options in the New York City area, priced between $25 and $30 per month. Additionally, Diamond Sports Group’s Bally Sports has a regional sports subscription service available for around $20 per month.
