Hans Olsen and Scott Garrard, along with their producer Lloyd Cole, celebrated their 10th anniversary as a show today during Hans and Scotty G on KSL Sports Zone.
As the show began, the two talked about some of the things they have been able to talk about over those ten years and looked forward to now having the chance to talk local hockey with the arrival of a new NHL team. On the ten years together, Garrard said, “That’s some longevity you just don’t see in this business.” The show had several special guests call in to congratulate them on the milestone as they went throughout the show which even included some poetry from a longtime listener.
Utah Jazz television voice Craig Bolerjack, who spent many years on the radio in Salt Lake City with Gordon Monson, called in and said, “10 years just doesn’t happen in this business.”
The show currently airs daily from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. mountain time. Garrard, who is also the station’s program director, has been a fixture in the Utah Sports Radio scene since 2003. Garrard also serves as the play-by-play voice for Utah State University football and men’s basketball. Olsen has been in sports radio in Utah since 2006. He played football at BYU from 1996-2000 and also played three years with the Indianapolis Colts. He also works as the color analyst for BYU football.
