The Regional Edward R. Murrow Awards continue to be handed out, and 95.5 WSB earned two category wins.
In Region 13, which encompasses Florida, Georgia, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands, the Atlanta news/talk station took home the awards for Best Newscast with its Atlanta’s Morning News program.
The station also was named the winner in the Overall Excellence in the Large Market – Radio sector.
Jacksonville news/talk station 104.5 WOKV took home a Regional Murrow Award for Excellence in Innovation for its Jacksonville Mayoral Forum it held in April of last year.
In the Larget Market – Radio division, public radio stations in Miami (WLRN), Atlanta (WABE), and Tampa (WUSF) won the other 12 awards not won by 95.5 WSB and 104.5 WOKV.
Public radio stations won every award in the Region 13 Small Market – Radio division, with WFSU (Tallahassee), WUFT (Gainesville), and WGCU (Ft. Myers) earning all five honors given away by the RTDNA.
