Joey O’Rourke the voice of Indiana State men’s basketball as well as owner and morning host of WMMC Radio has officially announced the acquisition of three additional stations, one of which will become sports radio station WFNB ‘The Fanbase.
O’Rourke posted on his Facebook account, “The cats out of the bag! Kelsey & I are excited to announce that JKO Media Group has expanded… It’s been in the works for a while now it’s OFFICIAL we go from 1 station to a cluster of 4 stations RIGHT here in the Wabash Valley! 4 years ago (time flies when you are having fun) JD & Lori Schumann Spangler showed the faith in us when they gave us a change to buy WMMC Radio 105.9 FM. Without the tremendous support we have received over the last 4 years this wouldn’t be possible… While nothing comes easy or is guaranteed in life we are ready to put the effort in to continue to grow and bring the best coverage possible to the Wabash Valley! Thanks for your support and we look forward to a long & prosperous future!”
All of the stations will have sports play-by-play including the Illinois Fighting Illini, Indiana State, the Indiana Hoosiers and the Purdue Boilermakers. WAMB on 1130 AM and 2 FM translators, 99.5 FM and 106.9 FM, will now be all-sports.
O’Rourke explained the station “will change its call letters from WAMB to WFNB “The Fanbase” & become the Wabash Valleys only 24 hour/7 Day a week all sports format! For those of you that truly know my love of sports I’m SO EXCITED bring this back and make it work! We will be offering a Vigo County Football game of the week along with bringing Dan Patrick, Colin Cowherd to the Wabash Valley! Also, Joey O & The King goes from just a Thursday night show to a daily show! A whole lot more will becoming as we finalize those things. Also WFNB will remain the home of the Purdue Boilermakers.”
