Hunter Biden, the son of President Joe Biden, has filed a lawsuit against Fox News claiming the network attempted to “harass, annoy, alarm, and humiliate” him and tried to “tarnish his reputation.”
In 2022, Fox News created a “mock trial” series that argued what a possible trial against the President’s son could look like if charges were ever brought against him.
The lawsuit alleges that the network broke certain New York statutes, including a “revenge porn” law, by showing nude photos of Biden in the series.
In April, the series was removed from the FOX Nation streaming platform after attorneys for Biden threatened legal action.
Fox News has denied any wrongdoing in the situation.
“This entirely politically motivated lawsuit is devoid of merit. The core complaint stems from a 2022 streaming program that Mr. Biden did not complain about until sending a letter in late April 2024,” a Fox News spokesperson told Barrett News Media.
“The program was removed within days of the letter, in an abundance of caution, but Hunter Biden is a public figure who has been the subject of multiple investigations and is now a convicted felon. Consistent with the First Amendment, FOX News has accurately covered the newsworthy events of Mr. Biden’s own making, and we look forward to vindicating our rights in court.”
