Another weekend has now passed without Howard Eskin returning to the 94WIP airwaves. Eskin, who would normally host from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. ET Saturday mornings, missed his third straight week since a July 1 news story revealed he had been banned from both Citizens Bank Park, where the Phillies play, and from the Sixers’ practice facility after an investigation found he made an unwanted advance toward a female Aramark employee in May at a Phillies game.
It had been previously reported Eskin had a preplanned vacation the first week and last weekend was the final show for Glen Macnow who retired after 31 years. BSM reached out to Audacy for comment, but no information was given about Eskin’s future.
WIP owner, Audacy, and the Phillies investigated the accusation and found it to be worthy of consequences. The two companies decided to ban Eskin from the ballpark for the rest of the Phillies’ season. The 76ers would later also ban Eskin from the team’s training facility.
In addition to his hosting duties at WIP, Eskin, 73, is also a part of the Philadelphia Eagles Radio Network broadcasts as the sideline reporter. Eskin has not commented on the incident since it was first reported.
Howard Eskin started in radio in 1972, became a sports anchor at KYW-TV in 1982 and hosted the first sports program on WIP in 1986.
