92.7 WMAY in Springfield, Illinois has named Patrick Pfingsten as the Springfield’s Morning News for the Mid-West Family Broadcasting station.
Pfingsten joins the station after writing “The Illinoize” political newsletter. Previously, he worked as a news radio reporter/anchor in Champaign, Illinois for six years before working in a communications role for several political figures and launching his own public relations firm. He had been working as a fill-in host for WMAY for two years.
“I’m honored to be asked to continue the long tradition of WMAY’s commitment to Springfield, surrounding communities, and the state of Illinois,” stated Pfingsten. “Our state and nation are at a critical time and too many media figures are too consumed with trying to push an agenda. We’re going to lean on the truth.”
“In our divided political world, we decided it was time to break from the partisan talking points and start listening to someone who will cut through the bull,” added Mid-West Family Broadcasting Springfield GM Mark Van Allen added. “The public deserves information and opinions they can trust, and we believe Patrick will be a great asset to Springfield and our entire state in raising the level of debate in our politics.”
Patrick Pfingsten will take over duties on Springfield’s Morning News on Monday, July 29th. He replaces Mike Wennmacher on the station’s morning show, which is heard from 6-9 AM.
