iHeartMedia Jacksonville’s Urban WJBT (93.3 The Beat) and Urban AC WSOL (V101.5) will host the ninth annual “Sista Strut” breast cancer awareness event on October 12 at the Jacksonville Baseball Grounds.
The day starts with a rally at 8:30, followed by a walk at 10. Money raised benefits local organizations dedicated to breast cancer research, education and patient support.
In a news release, iHeart said, “Breast cancer affects countless lives, and the ‘Sista Strut’ walk serves as a powerful demonstration of unity, strength, and support for those impacted by the disease. By organizing this event, iHeartMedia raises awareness about breast cancer in the African American community, celebrates survivors, and provides essential resources for early detection and prevention. Throughout the walk, participants will have the chance to connect with other survivors, healthcare professionals and organizations committed to fighting breast cancer.”
Paul Rogers, local Market Manager, said, “iHeartMedia Jacksonville is proud to sponsor and present ‘Sista Strut’ as part of our ongoing commitment to community engagement and support. By sharing stories and experiences, we hope to foster a sense of unity and empower all attendees to take an active role in their own breast health.”
