Ben Solak Leaving The Ringer

"I’ve loved every second of my time here, and I owe so much to everyone: editors, producers, managers, and co-hosts."

Ben Solak, a staff writer and podcast host at The Ringer, has announced that this will be his final week with the company. In a social media post on X, Solak revealed that he would be leaving the company and release his final podcast episode alongside Sheil Kapadia on Tuesday to say goodbye as he departs the sports media brand. Solak co-hosts The Ringer NFL Show and also appears twice per week on The Ringer’s Philly Special podcast, distinguishing himself as a multifaceted media talent.

Before officially joining The Ringer, Solak worked as a senior NFL Draft analyst for The Draft Network before his eventual promotion to a senior college football writer. This experience followed his work at Bleeding Green Nation where he was the deputy editor of the digital platform. Additionally, he hosted a Philadelphia Eagles podcast within the Locked On Podcast Network and made guest appearances across other programming on the network. The University of Chicago graduate has a degree in comparative human development and has yet to reveal his next business endeavor.

“I’ve loved every second of my time here, and I owe so much to everyone: editors, producers, managers, and co-hosts,” Solak said in a post Monday on X. “I did cool work with my friends, and it was a blessing and a joy.”

When Peter King retired from writing his Football Morning in America column at the end of last season, he recommended readers to check out Solak’s work at The Ringer. Every week throughout the NFL season, he wrote The Hot Rod column in which he recapped action taking place from around the league and provided his analysis on the action. In replying to a user on, Solak conveyed that he will have more information to share about his future later in the week.
