After previously stating he would not debate on ABC News, Donald Trump will now face off against Kamala Harris in a September Presidential Debate on the network.
ABC News has confirmed the details of the debate after Trump claimed him participating in an event with the network would be a “conflict of interest” after launching a defamation lawsuit against the outlet and host George Stephanopoulos earlier this year.
Late last week, Trump instead stated he would debate Harris in an event with Fox News on Wednesday, September 4th. He added that the event would be moderated by Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum in Pennsylvania in front of a live audience. However, neither Harris nor Fox News have confirmed such a debate.
During a press conference Thursday, Trump stated he would debate on September 4th with Fox News, September 10th with ABC News, and on September 25th with NBC News. The date with NBC News had previously been unreported.
However, the September date with ABC News had been previously confirmed when President Joe Biden was still the Democratic nominee. ABC News has confirmed that David Muir and Linsey Davis will moderate, with a location yet to be determined. As of publication, it is unclear if Kamala Harris will agree to all three debates with Donald Trump.
