1210 WPHT afternoon host Rich Zeoli is scheduled to broadcast live from the Democratic National Convention in Chicago next week. However, he isn’t exactly thrilled with the assignment.
During The Rich Zeoli Show, the Philadelphia host said he’s only been to the Windy City one time previously, but wasn’t really looking forward to taking his conservative news/talk show to the opposition’s convention.
“I’m not excited. I’m not gonna lie, I’m not excited in the least,” he shared as his producers snickered. His comments came after sharing that he had told his son “I’m going to Chicago. Flying out on Sunday. I’m gonna be broadcasting live from the Democratic National Convention. He said ‘Are you excited?’ And I said I’m excited to go to Chicago. I’m not exactly excited to be around tens of thousands of Democrats for a week.”
Zeoli has previously attended Democratic National Conventions, including the 2016 event in Philadelphia. He joked that being live in person at the political conventions is a markedly different approach than other national conservative media figures.
“At this point, I don’t even care. I can care less. You go to these things and you see (Dan) Bongino has like 50 people him. Clay (Travis) and Buck (Sexton) have like 50 people helping them, 37 different assistants in person getting coffee and water,” Zeoli said. “We can barely plug in our equipment on our own. Sean Hannity and all the Fox News personalities are treated like royalty. I don’t mind.”
The 2024 Democratic National Convention is scheduled for Monday, August 19th through Thursday, August 24th at the United Center in Chicago.
