Rick Burgess, one-half of the Syndicated Solution’s “Rick and Bubba Show,” has revealed his intention to continue his broadcasting career after the show’s 30-year run ends this year.
“The Rick Burgess Show” will debut on January 6, 2025. It is expected to retain most of its more than 60 affiliates. Syndicated Solutions President Rob Carey indicated that cast members Calvin “Speedy” Wilburn, Rick’s brother Greg Burgess, and Chris Adler will appear in the new show along with many of the same segments.
Posting on Instagram, Burgess said, “Nothing can ever replace ‘The Rick and Bubba Show.’ The last 31 years have been an incredible journey. I will always be grateful for the partnership with Bill ‘Bubba’ Bussey and the blessing he has been not only to my family and me but to so many of you! We have much to celebrate! The unforgettable moments we produced through the ‘Rick and Bubba Show’ will live on and can be enjoyed for years to come, but it’s time for the next journey. As grateful as I am for the past, I am also very excited about the future.”
Last month, Bussey revealed that he would become Jacksonville State University’s Assistant Athletic Director. He will be responsible for managing all broadcast operations related to in-house productions, including events such as coaches’ shows and various other JSU productions.
“The Rick Burgess Show” will air on radio stations around the U.S. on weekdays from 5 am to 10 am (CT).
