October 7th marks the one-year anniversary of the deadly terrorist attacks in Israel. Salem Radio Network host Mike Gallagher wanted to be in the country to commemorate the date, but could not make travel work.

Gallagher dedicated his entire nationally syndicated show to remembering the attacks Monday. And while discussing the event with International Fellowship of Christians and Jews President Yael Eckstein, the Salem Radio Network host revealed he tried to be in the Middle East nation this week.

“I had a crazy, goofy, bizarre idea to try to broadcast from Israel today,” Gallagher shared. “Last week, we all huddled and got on the phone with the travel planners.”

He then asked Eckstein about commercial flights available to Tel Aviv. She responded by saying that there are very few flights into the country due to the nature of the conflict between Hamas and the Israeli government. “It’s nearly impossible, if not completely impossible to get a ticket,” she shared. “Today, it’s basically impossible.”

“There was no way. We tried,” admitted Gallagher. “Listen, if I could have been on a plane, I would have been.”

Gallagher — who went to the country earlier this year — shared that the company’s partnership with the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews is “one of the happiest occurrences that I’ve experienced in my career.”

Mike Gallagher concluded that while he was disappointed he couldn’t make it to Israel, the timing may have worked out as he is concerned about his home as Hurricane Milton makes its way toward Tampa, where his show is based.
