Krol Communications’ suburban Detroit WHMI partnered with American Legion Devereaux Post 141 to organize a full-day Hurricane Helene Relief Drive on October 10. The station gathered crucial supplies such as blankets, hygiene products, diapers, and water.
WHMI morning show hosts Chuck Edwards and Madison June led the relief effort. Over 500 individuals donated an estimated $200,000 worth of supplies, which have been loaded into two fully packed 26-foot trucks. In addition to this overwhelming support, monetary donations have surpassed $8,000.
Edwards said, “Madison and I feel compelled to help our fellow Americans in this dire, heartbreaking circumstance. We know the people who listen feel the same way.”
