Fox News, MSNBC, CNN, and The Weather Channel See Nearly 9 Million Viewers During Hurricane Milton Landfall

Hurricane Milton made landfall in the Tampa area last week, and between Fox News, MSNBC, CNN, and The Weather Channel, a large audience viewed the carnage.

From 8 to 11 PM ET, all four networks featured extensive coverage with reporters on the ground surrounding the Florida Gulf Coast as what was once a Category 5 storm barreled toward the area.

The storm officially made landfall at 8:30 PM ET.

Fox News led the coverage with just over 3 million viewers. The Weather Channel saw strong viewership, finishing with 2.9 million viewers. Meanwhile, MSNBC (1.5 million) and CNN (1.4 million) finished in third and fourth places, respectively.

In the Adults 25-54 demographic, The Weather Channel dominated the ratings with just over 1 million viewers. Fox News saw an average audience during the timeframe of 419,000 viewers, with CNN close behind at 388,000. MSNBC lagged behind with 192,000 viewers in the demographic.

During the 4 PM-Midnight time window, more than 5 million viewers across Fox News (2.8 million), MSNBC (1.5 million), and CNN (1.2 million) watched coverage of the storm.
