iHeartMedia Names Eddie Martiny And John Karpinski Division Presidents

iHeartMedia has announced the appointment of two new Division Presidents to restructure the company’s Markets Group.

In a memo to staff, CEO Bob Pittman and President/COO/CFO Richard Bressler revealed the restructuring.

Eddie Martiny, who was Houston Region President, will now serve as Division President, taking charge of the Texas markets, including Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, Austin, New Orleans, and Baton Rouge, LA.

John Karpinski, previously the Executive Vice President of Strategic Partnerships, has stepped into the role of Division President of the major Carolina Markets. These markets include St. Louis, Indianapolis, Memphis, and Louisville/Lexington, KY. Karpinski will also maintain his Market Tier 3 Automotive business leadership position.

The memo read, “The new structure, combined with an effort to move more decision-making responsibility from the center to the Division level, will ensure our organization is equipped to react quickly to customer needs – utilizing the full range of our unparalleled reach and scale and our new technology and support tools.”

“With our leadership in every aspect of the audio industry, this further modernization of our organizational structure, matched with our new technology and support, positions us even more strongly to take full advantage of our unparalleled range of assets, technologies and platforms.”

Both new Division Presidents are set to report to Markets Group President Hartley Adkins.

In other news, Tom McConnell, a 30-year veteran at the company, has announced his retirement. However, he will continue to contribute to the company in a consulting capacity. McConnell has held positions as a division and regional president and has overseen multiple iHeartMedia markets throughout his time with the company.

“Many of us have worked closely with Tom over the years; we truly appreciate his many contributions to our company and our communities during his wide variety of roles, and we look forward to continuing our relationship going forward,” Pittman and Bressler said in the memo.
