As the 2024 election nears, credible information has never been more critical. KFI-AM 640 is dedicating a special program to pointing out the differences between misinformation and disinformation.
Mis/Dis* will be a two-part series hosted by KFI National Correspondent Steve Gregory. The program will feature “subject matter experts from journalism, academia, and the California State Assembly,” according to the station.
Gregory will also speak to a California lawmaker who authored legislation requiring large online platforms to either remove or label deceptive and digitally altered content related to elections.
The special news program will showcase the rise of misleading facts, propaganda, and errors in reporting. It will also explore the key differences between what consists of misinformation and disinformation and why the distinction is an important one.
“This news special is especially important with the upcoming election,” said KFI-AM 640 Program Director Robin Bertolucci. “We hope this program will teach people the skills to become a better-informed voter and citizen.”
Mis/Dis* will air on Sunday, October 20th and Sunday, October 27th at 2 PM.
