Rip City Radio 620 in Portland has announced the addition of Sean Highkin to their talent roster. Highkin has joined the team as a Portland Trail Blazers insider.
Highkin has been operating the Rose Garden Report, an independent, subscription-based newsletter covering the Portland Trail Blazers and the NBA. Prior to that Highkin was with Bleacher Report for nearly five years where he wrote features, columns and analysis about the NBA.
Highkin posted on social media to let Blazers fans know he will have more in the coming days about his appearances on the station and that the newsletter would not be changing. Highkin wrote, “I’ll have more details later but the Substack is not going anywhere or changing at all. You’re just going to hear me on the radio a lot more. Excited about it.”
Highkin is a University of Oregon graduate who started out at NBC Sports in Chicago before becoming a Chicago Bulls beat writer for The Athletic. He has also hosted a Bulls podcast for Locked On.
iHeartMedia’s Rip City Radio 620 is the flagship station for the Trail Blazers. The station weekday programming features a mix of local and national programming. Rip City Mornings with Justin Myers starts the day followed by Rich Eisen and Doug Gottlieb. Afternoon drive is a local show, Rip City Drive with Dwight and Chad.
