KFI-AM 640 morning host Bill Handel has been on the air for decades in Los Angeles. But that doesn’t mean he’ll use that credibility to tell listeners how to vote in this election, or any election for that matter.
During his “Handel on the News” segment, the Los Angeles news/talk host shared that he would publish his voting guide on the station’s website. But he remained adamant that does not mean listeners are to follow the way he is voting simply because that’s what he will do.
“My voting guide will be up there,” Handel said. “And the disclaimer that you hear on every supplement that you have ever seen commercials is, ‘This is not intended to cure, diagnose, or treat any disease,’ when you buy whatever the hell it is. Same thing goes for the voting guide, ok? The disclaimer to the voting guide is this: ‘Voting guide is not intended to cure, diagnose, or treat any political disorder.’ And the bottom line is, if you follow my voting guide, you are fired as a KFI listener. It’s that simple.
“It is for informational purposes only,” Handel continued. “It’s to let you know how I am going to vote. And in no way am I going to ask you how or what to vote or pay attention to what I’m doing. That’s one of the things I am fanatic about. Is anybody telling me how to vote, or anybody telling you how to vote, if you want to be crazy, that’s your business. And there’s plenty to be crazy about this election cycle.”
Bill Handel continued by noting that his vote in the presidential election likely is inconsequential because California is the “bluest of blue states,” and will go to Kamala Harris without any hesitation.
