Former President Donald Trump is recording a podcast with Joe Rogan. 77 WABC host Greg Kelly wonders how The Joe Rogan Experience got as popular as it has.
During his 77 WABC show, the Newsmax host discussed the recent push by both candidates to appear on podcasts, noting that Rogan was an option for both.
He admitted, however, that he doesn’t completely understand the allure of Rogan’s show.
“For reasons that are somewhat mysterious to me, that guy is making about a half billion dollars a year,” Kelly said of Joe Rogan. “I do enjoy the podcast occasionally. I mean, I don’t know how many five-and-a-half-hour interviews I can listen to of David Lee Roth, or the guy who retired as a professional wrestler 10 years ago.”
While he shared he doesn’t have a firm grasp on how it got so popular, Greg Kelly did give The Joe Rogan Experience some praise.
“It is somewhat mesmerizing those podcasts, though, I’ll give you that,” he said, noting that he admires Rogan’s ability to have a conversation with someone and never bring up what they’re known for.
Greg Kelly concluded by sharing that he’s yet to completely grasp the podcasting genre.
“It’s just curious. It’s a curious thing. I haven’t figured out the podcasting. It’s different,” he admitted. “It’s different from other media, not in an altogether bad way, just a curious way.”
