Don Lemon has announced he is leaving the X social media platform owned by Elon Musk after disliking a new change in the app’s terms of service.

In a video posted to the platform he is leaving, Lemon said he believes the app now fails at the mission Elon Musk claims he purchased the company to implement.

“I’ve loved connecting with all of you on X, but it’s time for me to leave the platform,” Lemon shared. “I once believed it was a place for honest debate and discussion, transparency, and free speech, but I now feel it does not serve that purpose.”

He then quoted new terms of service implemented by X that requires any disputes against the company by users to be held excluisvely in the U.S. District Court in Northern Texas or state courts in Tarrant County, Texas.

A report from The Washington Post alleges that the new terms of service would insulate the company from potential litigation due to the conservative nature of the courts in those areas.

It is not the first issue Don Lemon has had with the Elon Musk-owned platform. Earlier this year, he inked a contract with the social media app to produce a digital video program. However, that deal was ended after one episode after a contentious interview with Musk that went viral for a line of questioning the former CNN asked of the billionaire.
