Alpha Media’s Hot AC station, Mix 99.1 KEEZ-FM in Mankato, MN, officially rebranded as “Z99” earlier this month.
KEEZ-FM has transitioned back to a Top 40 format, now utilizing Westwood One’s 24/7 service. The station, previously known as “Z99” since the 1980s, underwent this change following its branding shift on Halloween 2018.
The transition to Top 40 positions KEEZ-FM in direct competition with Subarctic Media’s “Hot 96.7” KDOG in North Mankato.
Earlier this year, the station was among several small market Alpha Media outlets that experienced staff reductions, losing all local personnel.
