As FanDuel TV continues its broad distribution strategy through a variety of media platforms in the United States, the brand has appointed a new leader. Michael Shiffman has officially been named the senior vice president and executive producer of FanDuel TV and will be tabbed with leading creative and operational direction of sports and racing programming within the venture. Under his new role, Shiffman will be responsible for overseeing aspects of production and content strategy, along with providing content that engages the audience of sports and horse racing fans on the channel. Shiffman will report to Mike Raffensperger, president of sports at FanDuel Corporation, as he begins this new position.
“We are thrilled to welcome Michael to FanDuel,” Raffensperger said in a statement. “Throughout his career, he has led countless high profile productions for the industry’s most distinguished shows, programming and live events. His invaluable experience and keen expertise were the perfect fit to maintain FanDuel TV’s continued growth and elevate the network’s opportunities a leading player in sports betting media.”
Shiffman is a graduate of Miami University in Oxford, Ohio where he earned his degree in broadcast journalism. Prior to joining FanDuel, he worked at ESPN for 24 years where he served as its senior vice president of production and had oversight over select live game and studio productions. Moreover, he directed strategies for multiple channels to ensure the creation and dissemination of content across platforms, including digital content for ESPN. Throughout his time with the company, he led studio shows including Sports Center, NFL Primetime and NBA Countdown while also overseeing marquee live event productions such as the NBA Finals, WNBA Finals and NCAA Women’s National Championship Game.
FanDuel TV continues to air sports programming throughout the day available on a wide variety of platforms. The morning program, Up & Adams, is available to watch on the free ad-supported streaming television (FAST) channel, as well as on truTV, Max and MSG Networks among others. Earlier in the year, the company introduced an additional FAST channel dedicated to live sports coverage, such as international soccer, horse racing and PokerStars events. FanDuel Corporation also acquired naming rights for the Diamond Sports Group-owned cluster of regional sports networks last month.
