The legal challenges confronting rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs continue to mount.
A new lawsuit has been filed against Combs, alleging that he drugged and sexually assaulted a woman at a party in New York. The plaintiff claims she was “lured” to the event through a radio station contest.
Latroya Grayson lodged the complaint, alleging that she and her half-sibling traveled from Oklahoma to New York in October 2006. The trip was made possible after a relative of Grayson won a contest for two tickets to attend one of Sean Combs’ parties from Perry Broadcasting Company’s Urban Contemporary station, K-Jamz 105.3 (KJMM) in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Grayson, 23 at the time, claims she experienced illness and lost consciousness after being served two premade drinks by waitresses, as outlined in a complaint filed earlier this month in the Southern District of New York.
Upon regaining consciousness in a hospital, she reported her shirt was torn, her underwear and shoes were missing, and she had no recollection of the events that transpired. According to the complaint, the individual refrained from seeking medical attention or notifying law enforcement due to fear.
In her lawsuit, Grayson alleges that she received a threatening phone call from an unidentified woman who urged her to remain silent, claiming that it would be “futile” to pursue any matters related to the alleged assault.
Grayson has filed a lawsuit against several parties, including Combs; Bad Boy Entertainment Holdings; Atlantic Records, which she alleges facilitated the event; Mike Savas, a former promoter for Atlantic; Delta Airlines, which provided her transportation to New York; KJMM, the Tulsa radio station that conducted the contest; and the Roger Smith Hotel, where she was accommodated.
In a statement, attorneys representing Combs described Grayson’s allegations as “pure fiction.”
“Ms. Grayson admits she has no memory of the events alleged in her complaint, does not know who was supposedly involved, and has never spoken to Mr. Combs,” the statement said.
“As we’ve said before, Mr. Combs cannot respond to every baseless lawsuit and lawyer-driven money grab,” He has faith in the judicial process, in which fact will be separated from opportunistic fabrications like these,” said the statement from Combs attorneys.
Combs is currently incarcerated at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York. He is facing federal charges related to racketeering, sex trafficking, and additional offenses. Combs has entered a plea of not guilty. The trial is set to commence on May 5.
