VSiN has announced its return to SiriusXM, bringing some new friends along for the ride. Today, the companies announced that VSiN would return to the satellite radio provider on Jan.17 on SiriusXM channel 158.
In addition to the 24/7 sports betting channel, VSiN and Mad Dog Sports Radio will team up to produce more sports betting content. “VSiN Live on Mad Dog Sports Radio” will air on weeknights from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. ET, bringing back former “The Wrap” host Patrick Meagher and longtime cohort Dustin Swedelson to the channel. That show premieres on Jan. 6 and promises to deliver “sports talk and wagering-focused content to listeners while games are in progress.”
“I’m thrilled to be working with the great team at SiriusXM again and excited that this agreement will allow us to collaborate on wagering and fantasy sports content that will entertain their national sports audience,” said Steve Cohen, executive vice president of talent and programming at VSiN. “A great first example of this collaboration is the daily show we’ll be jointly producing for Mad Dog Sports Radio, and we look forward to delivering additional first-in-class sports talk programming together.”
VSiN originally aired radio programming on SiriusXM from 2017 to 2020 but has since been absent from the platform since then. The station was headlined by Brent Musburger’s “My Guys in the Desert,” a show that played off Musburger’s longtime broadcasting nod and wink to Las Vegas’ sports betting scene before the activity was legalized elsewhere. Musburger still acts as the lead broadcaster and managing editor for VSiN. His nephew, Brian, is the company’s president and chief business officer and is equally excited about the news.
“We’ve always understood the importance of the SiriusXM platform for sports fans and betting enthusiasts and are thrilled to deliver the unique sports betting content this engaged and growing audience is looking for – straight from the entertainment and gaming capital of the world in Las Vegas,” the younger Musburger said in a statement. “Distribution on SiriusXM is a critical component of our expansion strategy and helps solidify VSiN’s position as the nation’s largest sports betting network.”
VSiN officially returns to SiriusXM on Jan. 17 via channel 158 on both Sirius and XM devices. There’s been no word yet on a show schedule, but it will likely mirror VSiN’s existing schedule that is disseminated via its own live streaming platform.
