Rebecca Kutler has continually climbed the ladder at MSNBC since joining the network in 2022. That continues in 2025 as she adds new duties to oversee the daytime programming lineup.
Kutler — who had previously been charged with leading the network’s digital content and live events — will now take charge of the programming lineup that includes shows hosted by Ana Cabrera, Jose Diaz-Balart, Chris Jansing, Katy Tur, Nicolle Wallace, and Ari Melber.
Additionally, MSNBC will experience a change in 2025 as longtime network staple Andrea Mitchell will step away. Mitchell has hosted on MSNBC since 2008.
“From primaries, debates, elections, and inaugurals here at home, to breaking news around the globe, my goal will continue — as it has always been — to bring you, our viewers, the major newsmakers shaping our country and the world right here on MSNBC,” she said while making her announcement.
Mitchell is set to leave the network sometime after the inauguration of Donald Trump on Monday, January 20th. A firm date for her departure has yet to be announced.
Rebecca Kutler joined MSNBC in 2022 after departing CNN. She served as the Senior Vice President and Head of Programming for CNN+ before Warner Bros. Discovery shuttered the streaming platform. She was elevated to that role after previously overseeing the analysts, contributors, and commentators for CNN, which she began in 2015. In total, she spent more than 20 years at CNN before moving to MSNBC as the Senior Vice President of Content Strategy.
