A book excerpt that alleged Joe Rogan misled the Kamala Harris campaign about appearing on his podcast has been lambasted by the popular host and comedian.
A recent published excerpt from Fight: Inside the Wildest Battle for the White House by journalists Jonathan Allen and Amie Parnes shared insight to the negotiations between the Harris campaign and Rogan, which alleged that a date offered by the Democratic nominee’s entourage was rebuffed because Rogan had a “personal day” scheduled. However, that date was when Rogan was interviewing Donald Trump for an episode that garnered millions of downloads and YouTube views.
“This whole idea that we (expletive) her over and we (expletive) her over for Trump — incorrect, just not true,” he said.
“This whole idea that we screwed her over for Trump is just not true,” Rogan added. “One of the things they said that wasn’t true was that we lied about the day Trump was coming on. We just didn’t tell them because they hadn’t committed to doing the show.”
The Joe Rogan Experience host added that scheduling a date and time with the Trump campaign couldn’t have been easier.
“Trump was super easy. We offered one day. He said, ‘Yes.’ That was it,” Rogan said. “There was no back-and-forth, no stipulations, no edits — just a straightforward booking. Harris’ team — on the other hand — never fully committed.”
Rogan also denied that the Harris campaign had done a walkthrough of his studio, stating that the Secret Service was there with Trump, but that no one from the campaign for the then Vice President was ever at his studio.
He continued by noting that he had offered to host a podcast with Kamala Harris in the nighttime hours after he recorded a conversation with Trump, when the Democratic nominee was in Texas for a campaign event. But there was never a commitment from the Harris campaign.
“I wanted to release both of them on the same day,” revealed Rogan. “I think it’s someone trying to cover their ass for the fact that she never did it. And if she did do it, it might have had a positive effect,” he said.
