Country Q104 KBEQ Kansas City morning show host Jenny Matthews has left the station.
She has been hosting mornings solo since Todd Nixon’s departure last December (BMM 12/29). The market veteran had been with Q104 since October 2019.
Citing the solo show, “not feeling right” and a family health problem, Matthews wrote on her Facebook.
“I was given the chance to do ‘The Jenny Matthews Show’—just me. I tried. But it just didn’t feel right. Maybe because I’ve already done that? Or maybe because a lot of life has happened over the past few weeks of this new year. My dad is sick, and to be honest, that’s where my mind is these days. He’s got this. A long road ahead. But, I believe with everything in me, he’ll kick this thing.”
Matthews continued, “My babies aren’t babies anymore. Middle school. High school for my girl next year. It’s going so fast, and it’s just so damn bittersweet. I don’t wanna miss mornings with them. I want to be able to go to Maryland to spend time with my dad and the rest of my family.”
