All the Smoke Productions, the new media and production company founded by Matt Barnes and Brian Dailey, have now received titles with the brand as it continues to expand its content portfolio. Barnes, a former forward who played 14 seasons in the NBA has been named the chief executive officer of the brand, while Dailey will serve as its president and chief operating officer. The duo launched the production company following the closure of Showtime Sports by Paramount Global, the company through which the All the Smoke podcast was produced and disseminated that stars Barnes with former NBA guard Stephen Jackson. The news surrounding the company was first reported by Mollie Cahillane of Sports Business Journal.
Dailey previously served as the senior vice president of programming and content for Showtime Networks before departing the company at the end of 2023. Prior to his decade with the network, he spent time with ESPN managing digital properties and eventually rising to the director of partnerships and business development. With a versatile background in multimedia content, Dailey will be overseeing the company as it looks to expand its footprint by building a network and production agency. The company currently has more than eight digital series that examine the intersection of sports and culture, and there are several more said to be in development.
All the Smoke Productions reportedly signed boxers Andre Ward and Roy Jones Jr to contracts through which they will serve as key parts of the fight content division. There are also said to be deals that are currently pending with over-the-top and streaming services as well, and the company hopes to potentially move into golf and baseball content by the end of the year as well. The growing media venture has long-term distribution partnerships with DraftKings, Meadowlark Media and iHeartRadio that further broadens its reach.
Within the report, Dailey is cited as saying that All the Smoke Productions is currently in “active conversations” with Amazon, Netflix and Apple surrounding forthcoming projects. The production company has several other podcasts within its overall portfolio as well, including KG Certified, The Art of Ward, Ring Champs and Morning Kombat.
