Detroit Tigers Games Cut Pre, Post-Game Programs on West Coast Trips

"On certain dates, the usual 30-minute pre-game and post-game coverage may not be aired."

The Detroit Tigers and FanDuel Sports Network Detroit announced their television broadcast plans for the 2025 season on Wednesday. Play-by-play announcer Jason Benetti will return as the lead voice for the Tigers, entering his second season with the club after previously calling games for the Chicago White Sox from 2016 to 2023.

Joining Benetti in the booth will be a rotation of game analysts, including former Tigers pitcher Dan Petry, along with Kirk Gibson, Todd Jones, and Carlos Peña. However, the team did not provide specific details on how the rotation will align with the upcoming schedule. All games will continue to be broadcast on FanDuel Sports Network Detroit.

One notable change for the upcoming season involves the team’s pre-game and post-game shows when the Tigers are on the West Coast. On certain dates, the usual 30-minute pre-game and post-game coverage may not be aired. While FanDuel Sports Network Tigers reporter Daniella Bruce is expected to host these shows, the team and network have yet to make an official announcement.

Whoever is named the host will replace sportscaster John Keating, who announced his retirement in January. Keating will continue working with FanDuel Sports Network through the remainder of the Detroit Red Wings season.

Additionally, Tigers radio play-by-play voice Dan Dickerson will move to television on days when Benetti is covering national college football assignments.

The Tigers reached an agreement in November to remain on FanDuel Sports Network Detroit through the 2025 season. As part of the deal, the team accepted a significant reduction in their rights fee, reportedly taking as much as a $25 million cut. FanDuel Sports Network Detroit now offers its own streaming platform for fans in the city, along with a new partnership through Amazon Prime. Subscriptions to access all Detroit sports games are currently priced at $19.99 per month.
