The RTDNA has announced the winners of the National Edward R. Murrow Awards for 2025, in both the television and radio divisions.
In the Network TV category, NBC News led the way with five victories. It won awards in the Breaking News Coverage; Excellence in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion; Investigative Reporting; News Series; and Newscast categories.
Meanwhile, ABC News took home three awards. It earned the honors for Continuing Coverage and Hard News, as well as the prestigious Overall Excellence Award.
CBS News also earned three honors. It won the Excellence in Innovation, Featuring Reporting, and Excellence in Writing categories in the Network TV sector.
NewsNation added an Edward R. Murrow Award by earning the top honor in the Excellence in Video category.
Similarly, MSNBC also won one award, with Rachel Maddow’s Ultra program earning the top Podcast distinction in the Network TV category.
In the Network Radio category, both NPR and ABC News earned three victories.
NPR won the awards for Breaking News Coverage, Excellence in Innovation, and Excellence in Writing sectors.
ABC News won the top honors for Hard News, Sports Reporting, and the Overall Excellence award.
ESPN earned awards in both the Network TV and Radio categories. In the TV category, it won the top honor for Sports Reporting. The 30 for 30 Podcasts series from ESPN won the Excellence in Sound category for Network Radio.
The Large Market Radio category saw several commercial stations earn top prizes.
KMOX in St. Louis won the award for Breaking News. 95.5 WSB in Atlanta won the Continuing Coverage award. Meanwhile, WTOP won the top spot in the Feature Reporting sector.
Two commercial stations won awards in the Small Market Radio category.
WHIO Radio in Dayton earned the award for best Newscast. Meanwhile, 570 WWNC in Asheville earned the award for Continuing Coverage.
The winners will be celebrated on Monday, October 13th, at the Edward R. Murrow Awards Gala at Gotham Hall in New York City.
