Maney & LauRen Move To K 104.7 As Beasley Exits Charlotte Market

"We're thrilled to bring those listeners to a new home full of your favorite songs."

Date:

The Maney & LauRen Morning Show leaves WNKS after more than a decade. Meanwhile, K 104.7 gets a proven morning powerhouse starting September 21.

What We Know Beasley Media is selling WNKS to Educational Media Foundation, with the deal closing by month’s end. Subsequently, sister station K 104.7 (WKQC) inherits the popular morning show. Maney, LauRen, and producer Big Al built a loyal listener base over eleven years on the previous station. They’ll continue bringing daily conversations, humor, pop culture commentary, and local coverage to Charlotte audiences.

What They Said “Maney & LauRen spent years building a loyal, dedicated listener group,” said K 104.7 Program Director Cameron Moore. “We’re thrilled to bring those listeners to a new home full of your favorite songs.” Moore added that the station sees opportunity to introduce the show to fresh audiences. “The next step is continuing to grow together,” he emphasized.

What Remains Unclear The exact details of WNKS’s post-Beasley programming remain unknown. Listeners haven’t heard specifics about how Educational Media Foundation plans to reposition the station. Additionally, whether other WNKS personalities will transition to different Beasley properties is still unconfirmed. K 104.7’s full new schedule beyond the morning show hasn’t been detailed.

What It Means Charlotte’s pop music landscape gets reinforcement with an established, chemistry-driven morning show. Beasley’s market footprint shrinks considerably with the WNKS sale. K 104.7 gains momentum in an increasingly competitive morning daypart. For listeners, the move simplifies things—favorite personalities stay, just on a different frequency.
