CNN host Abby Phillip has been in the news for her handling of the controversial comments made by Jillian Michaels. Megyn Kelly believes Phillip has been hypocritical in her stance.
During an appearance with Kara Swisher on her popular podcast, Phillip said that she doesn’t “like to talk negatively about guests who come on the show, because I just don’t think that’s good for them,” she shared. “Even when I disagree with people, I respect their right to embarrass themselves on national television. I think it is their right to do that. But I don’t want to disparage people, even when they disparage me — to be quite frank — online.”
However, Kelly argued that the shot taken at Michaels for her stances about the Smithsonian focusing on slavery in the United States in exhibits and that slavery “can’t be pinned on one race” was actually more pointed toward regular contributor Scott Jennings.
“The only thing that’s good about her show is sometimes she puts on Scott Jennings, and it’s fun to watch him fight,” said Kelly. “Then she had Jillian Michaels on the other day, and Jillian Michaels raised this issue about the Smithsonian. Well, what does Abby Phillip do? She decides to go on an even more terrible person’s podcast — Kara Swisher — and she decides to (expletive) all over her guests. These are the people who make the show tolerable for some small faction of Republicans, and she decides to take a massive dump on both of them.”
Kelly later focused on comments made in the same podcast episode by Abby Phillip that she often asks Scott Jennings to tone down his rhetoric, and that she hears from critics that she shouldn’t be giving the Salem Radio Network host such a broad platform.
“She needs to apologize for Scott Jennings — because CNN’s audience is overwhelmingly left — that people don’t like him and he says crazy things,” Megyn Kelly said, sarcastically. “He’s such a lunatic that he’s worthwhile airing those views because he’s MAGA.”
Megan, you’re not really relevant to most people. So your opinion of what’s being broadcast on CNN, an actual station unlike wherever you broadcast from, is not needed. NBC booted you for a reason. Because you’re no longer interested. Please go away. Thank you.
