Gregg Giannotti: Kay Adams Grabbed My Man Boob

0

Many of sports media’s biggest personalities are assembled in Arizona for Radio Row at the Super Bowl. WFAN morning host Gregg Giannotti was introduced to FanDuel TV’s Kay Adams yesterday, and he will remember the interaction for years to come.

During Boomer & Gio Tuesday morning, Giannotti explained the interaction came to be after he was going to 93.7 The Fan’s area to record an interview with Andrew Fillipponi when the pair bumped into Adams, who Fillipponi works with on the sports betting cable channel.

“The first thing she does is the classic ‘Where’s Boomer? Why isn’t he here? He doesn’t want to see me? Where did he go?’ So I go ‘You smell that rubber, Kay? That’s Boomer’,” explained Giannotti. “So then, I look over and she’s got a display of a tequila competitor that’s in front of her set, that’s not Casamigos. So then she sees me wearing the Casamigos sweatshirt that you have on, so playfully — she’s not angered by this, but playfully — she says ‘Oh no, no, no. You can’t wear that around here.’

“She puts her hand right here on my left man boob, and covers up the logo, and gives me two squeezes on the left man boob. Now, I am — at this point — completely floored. Because never once in my life — man, female — has anyone grabbed my man boob and gave it a honk-honk. And that’s what happened.”

“Was it titillating?” Boomer Esiason laughingly asked. Giannotti responded with a resounding no.

“It felt weird. It wasn’t titillating. It’s emasculating. It wasn’t like she was rubbing the back of my head saying ‘Oh, I love Boomer & Gio‘, she’s grabbing the most self-conscious part of my body and honking it.”

“She honked your boob,” Esiason said. “Did you honk her boob back?”

“Of course not!” shouted Giannotti. “I wouldn’t be sitting here right now!”

When asked by Esiason if he had PTSD or was upset about the situation, Giannotti said he was more upset with himself.

“I’m not upset at her. I’m more upset with me for possessing these man boobs and allowing something like this to happen. It’s more of a self-deprecation thing with me. Whatever she said after that, I don’t remember. It’s just black,” Giannotti joked.

“The whole time I’m just thinking ‘honk-honk, Kay Adams, the thing in the NFL right now, honk-honk, Kay Adams, oh look there’s Kay Adams, what’s Kay Adams wearing, Oh my god Kay Adams is here’ and the first time I meet her she’s going ‘honk-honk’ on my man boob.”

DirecTV: ‘We Prefer Newsmax Had Never Left’

0

DirecTV has now publicly defended itself after removing Newsmax from its channel lineup. The disagreement on a carriage fee has now been admitted by both the cable outlet and the satellite provider, but Congressional Republicans continue to champion public hearings on the matter.

In a statement released on its website, DirecTV contends the issues it holds with the conservative channel are financial and not related to politics.

“Our differences with Newsmax are economic, not political or ideological,” the statement read. “Newsmax made unreasonable demands that would force DirecTV customers to fund the network’s shift from a free nationwide streaming service to one that will require a pay TV subscription. Since we would not agree to Newsmax’s demand to pay them tens of millions of dollars in licensing fees, DirecTV was no longer permitted by Newsmax to air its content.”

In an interview with 710 WOR’s Mark Simone, Newsmax CEO Chris Ruddy claimed the licensing fee the channel asked of DirecTV was “tiny” and amounted to “about a dollar per year” per subscriber. The Daily Beast reports that figure would amount to $13 million per year, with Newsmax asking for a multi-year agreement with DirecTV.

Ruddy has maintained DirecTV’s goal was to “censor” the outlet. DirecTV took issue with that insinuation.

“DirecTV is disappointed by Newsmax’s position,” the statement from the satellite provider continued. “We prefer Newsmax had never left and remain interested in bringing Newsmax back under the right financial terms.”

Keith Olbermann: DirecTV Correct For Not Paying Newsmax $13 Million Per Year

0

The Newsmax vs DirecTV debate continues to rage on, with podcaster Keith Olbermann lambasting the cable news outlet for its demands of a carriage fee in the millions from the satellite provider.

During his Countdown with Keith Olbermann podcast, the former cable news host admonished DirecTV for failing to publicly address the situation until recently, while also noting — in his opinion — Newmax was unworthy of a licensing fee.

“We now have confirmation that this is a business dispute that the Republicans are exploiting to score points with the vast ’18 to stupid’ voting demographic,” Olbermann said. “DirecTV has finally gotten on the stick and issued a press release about this.”

“Our differences with Newsmax are economic, not political or ideological,” the statement from DirecTV read. “Newsmax made unreasonable demands that would cause DirecTV customers to fund the network’s shift from a free nationwide streaming service to one that would require a pay-TV subscription. Since we would not agree with Newsmax’s demands to pay them tens of millions of dollars in licensing fees, DirecTV was no longer permitted by Newsmax to air its content. DirecTV is disappointed by Newsmax’s position, and we prefer Newsmax never left, and remain interested in bringing Newsmax back for the right financial terms.”

The Daily Beast is reporting that ‘tens of millions of dollars’ figure is actually $13 million per year that Newsmax wanted on a multi-year arrangement,” Olbermann continued. “For that crap?”

During an interview with Mark Simone on 710 WOR, Newsmax CEO Chris Ruddy called the licensing fee they asked DirecTV for “tiny” saying it amounted to “about a dollar per year” from subscribers. Ruddy called DirecTV “very obstinate” in the situation “because they knew that it was a way of cleverly trying to shut us down as a news channel.”

WCCO Radiothon for Second Harvest Raises More Than $400,000

Minneapolis news/talk station WCCO raised more than $447,000 during its 14th annual radiothon to benefit Second Harvest Heartland.

Last week, the station held a 12-hour radiothon from the Second Harvest location in Brooklyn Park, a northern suburb of Minneapolis.

The station partnered with several notable national and local celebrities, including television chef Andrew Zimmern, former NFL sideline reporter Michele Tafoya, and Minnesota sports figures like former Vikings tight end Kyle Rudolph, Timberwolves head coach Chris Finch, and Twins radio announcer Cory Provus.

“Year after year, our fans open up their hearts to those in need,” said Audacy Minneapolis Senior Vice President and Market Manager Jeff Gonsales. “Lives are being impacted in significant ways, and we are incredibly grateful. WCCO’s long-standing partnership with Second Harvest Heartland means so much to us and to so many people who are helped by this community effort.”

“This community is great at showing up for one another, and today’s 14th annual ‘Let’s Kick Hunger Day Radiothon’ was no exception,” said Second Harvest Heartland CEO Allison O’Toole, adding the organization is grateful for WCCO listeners, radiothon callers, and sponsors for their help with the event.

It is the second time in just under four months that WCCO has seen a large radiothon to fight hunger in the Twin Cities. In November of last year, the station raised more than $330,000 for Union Gospel Mission Twin Cities after its 20th annual Hunger Mission Radiothon.

Skyview Networks ‘Making Progress’ Towards Resuming Normal Operations

0

Skyview Networks has alerted affiliates that it will “continue to make progress” as it tries to return to normal operating status after a cyberattack last week.

In a statement, the company said “We are serving our content clients directly to address specific needs and solutions while also coordinating with our network partners and affiliates. We apologize for the disruption we are experiencing and appreciate the industry support and collaboration we have received for programming distribution as well as commercial delivery and schedules.”

What the company is calling an “unauthorized access to its IT environment” incident affected the delivery of CBS World News Roundup to affiliates.

ABC News has also seen alterations due to the cyberattack, and told station affiliates in an email that it cannot provide a timeline for when it will “resume normal operations”.

“Our engineering team has been working through the weekend to create workarounds designed to mitigate the impact of this disruption on our affiliates, and we will continue to do so for as long as it takes,” the email obtained by Barrett News Media said. “We’re also in regular contact with our distribution partner as they work to bring their systems back online.”

The correspondence from ABC News laid out plans for the network’s coverage of the State of the Union address, saying it is “in full prep mode” and that stations “can expect the kind of comprehensive coverage ABC News is known for”.

Ken Matthews: Hunter Biden’s Lawyers Weaponizing Legal Action Against Media

0

President Joe Biden’s son Hunter is threatening legal action for the alleged trafficking of sensitive information from a laptop that he abandoned at a Delaware computer shop several years ago. Biden is demanding investigations and retractions from the repair shop, former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, and Fox News host Tucker Carlson. Podcaster and former syndicated radio host Ken Matthews is reacting to the developments.

In a recent video posted to his Rumble account, The Ken Matthews Report host pointed out that the “CBS Morning News” called the Hunter Biden laptop a weapon.

“This is where the new strategy is going,” warned Matthews. “The new strategy is: ‘How dare you leak the contents of the laptop’. That’s the new strategy just so you know. The lawyers are coming out and they are going to start going after the news media. They’ve already threatened to sue Fox News and we already know all you have to do is threaten to sue Fox News and they’ll shut up about stuff.”

Matthews noted that Fox News was sued following claims of a stolen election in 2020 and suddenly the network stopped referencing the event altogether.

“I think they (lawyers) are going to try that strategy now with Hunter,” said Matthews. “They are going to attack all the messengers and they’re going to beat them down and wear them out now that the truth is coming out about the laptop. There’s enough stuff on the laptop to put multiple Bidens in jail.”

Matthews predicted that the mainstream media — namely, CBS and MSNBC — will blame Hunter Biden’s laptop on former President Donald Trump.

“They even called it a weapon,” added Matthews. “When you connect all the dots and look at each network, each script, each narrative, you say ‘Oh my gosh, they are all in sync’. The people that make 10 million dollars a year to get to the top are stupid, or they are intentionally misleading people.”

From 2017-2021 Ken was a guest host for Rush Limbaugh and had the honor of hosting the last 2 shows, including the final Open Line Friday on Rush’s EIB Network. The Ken Matthews Report is now available commercial free with video.

Fox News Adds CB Cotton As New National Correspondent

Former Denver TV reporter CB Cotton has been hired as a national correspondent for Fox News Channel. In a news release, the network said Cotton will cover breaking news from FNC’s New York headquarters.

“Grateful. Thank you, Fox, for the opportunity to step into this role as a national correspondent,” Cotton tweeted on Tuesday.

Cotton, an Emmy-nominated reporter for her work on the social justice movement in 2020, served as a reporter for ABC affiliate KMGH-TV in Denver where she was the station’s lead nightside reporter focused on crime, justice, and law enforcement. She began her journalism career as the Jacksonville, North Carolina bureau chief for NBC affiliate WITN-TV.

Before working in Denver, Cotton served as a multimedia journalist at ABC affiliate WKRN-TV in Nashville, where she wrote and edited live shots for stories including Middle Tennessee’s March 2020 tornadoes, the 2019 Sumner County slayings, and the 2018 shooting of Daniel Hambrick.

She has also reported on alleged police misconduct, such as the violent arrest of Kyle Vinson in Aurora, the controversial apprehension of then 75-year-old Karen Garner in 2020 and the fallout surrounding the death of Elijah McClain following his 2019 arrest.

She is professionally fluent in Spanish and is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists and the National Press Photographers Association.

Chris Berman Says NBC Offered To Triple His Salary In 1989 to Leave ESPN

0

Chris Berman has always felt like ESPN was home for him.

There have been a couple of instances throughout his more than four-decade career at The Worldwide Leader where Berman was entertaining offers to leave. But Berman told Jimmy Traina on the Sports Illustrated Media Podcast he always knew ESPN was where he needed to be.

One instance came in 1989 when ESPN was still somewhat a single fledgling sports channel. Berman at the time was weighing leaving Bristol for NBC.

“ESPN was a different place,” Berman said. “We were only one channel then, remember.”

“(NBC) put an offer out there that was times three or four,” he added. “Which — ok — that took a while to get resolved.”

Berman said in terms of his career, deciding to remain at ESPN turned out to be the right choice.

“My God it’s the greatest move I never made,” he said. “At the time I was gonna be the number two guy behind Bob Costas doing football.

“Just job-wise, forget money and this – I’m not in it for that anyway,” Berman added. “I started at 16 thousand bucks.”

Chris talked about the coverage the potential move received. He said the decision was about something bigger than money. He loved getting to cover sports every day.

“That was not the point,” he said. “I wasn’t leveraging anything, and again thank God I’ve been here 43 years.”
