It's the kind of moment that should stop people, regardless of their politics, and make them say, yeah, this is f---ing awesome. Fox News seems to understand that instinctively. Whether MS NOW and CNN can get there is the real question.

"We used to have our own building. Then we were on a different floor. Now we're helping make the decisions and decide what that news budget is for the day, what's going to work for radio."

I know that the days of having a successful audio-only version of a podcast are over. But are we already at the end of new shows being launched?

"I would die to have audio of him calling out one of my hosts. Could you imagine what you could do with it?"

Bring your perspective, your pacing, your instincts. If that means the show sounds different for a day or a week, that's not a failure.

News/talk has the audience. It's got the reach. It's certainly got the passion and the credibility. Now it needs the focus.

The thing Weiss wants 60 Minutes to be largely no longer exists. But it doesn't sound as if she knows that.

"I'm not trying to sales pitch them an opinion. Their opinion is theirs, and if I do my job right, they'd agree with me — but I'm not going to try to make that an entry barrier."

World News Tonight is still on top. CBS Evening News is hitting concerning lows. But the Llamas-led program is excelling in an important area.

"We're building an early riser community here. It starts with the show — but that's where it starts. That's the launchpad for a bigger ecosystem that we intend to leverage and support."
