Chicago Radio Host Defends Appearances on FOX News

A Chicago radio host is denying that she lied to Fox News to try and cover up her identity when she appeared on Fox & Friends to discuss the reopening saga of Chicago Public Schools.

Amy Jacobson, who serves as a co-host at Salem Media AM 560 The Answer, has appeared on the show twice in the last three days. Both times, the network identified her as a Chicago parent and volleyball coach.

Jacobson is notorious for ripping the Chicago Teachers Union for various stances, including its refusal to send its teachers back to school amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The CTU, they don’t care about kids,” said Jacobson. “This is all about power…They come up with ridiculous demands, a list of demands, so to speak. As parents, we’re just sick of it and we can’t take it anymore.”

Jacobson compared the number of suicides in Chicago to the number of children that have died from COVID-19. “I’m sorry those eight kids died, but we are killing our children mentally. This is mental abuse what we are doing to our kids,” she said.

Fox’s failure to label Jacobson appropriately caught the attention of Mark Jacob of the Chicago Tribune. “Fox prefers to label Amy Jacobson as ‘Chicago public school parent’ rather than right-wing Chicago radio commentator,” tweeted Mark Jacob.

Last year Jacobson sued Governor J.B. Pritzker for barring her from his daily coronavirus media briefings because he considered her a political activist.
