Gesture on Television Would Show Appreciation to Behind the Scenes Crew

Fans will always attend sporting events regardless of the sport. There’s nothing quite like seeing your favorite player and team in person; however, as fans decide to stay home to consume their sports, television broadcasts are critical now more than ever.

With little or no fans for games, the majority of sports fans consumed their teams through television.

For The Big Lead’s Kyle Koster, sports television networks should look to spotlight their producers and directors, who are the behind the scene members helping make sure the broadcast runs smoothly.

Those working behind the camera are usually in a fast-paced environment where there’s little to no room for mistakes. Performing in this type of setting in which performing a mistake-free broadcast for three hours is a “Herculean effort.”

Koster provides a simple solution to acknowledge crew members that work behind the camera.

When welcoming the audience and introducing its hosts, broadcasters, or analysts, the network should add the names of key personnel below the booth’s names. It’s a simple gesture that shows those who aren’t in front of the camera that their work is greatly appreciated.
