Walter to Leave WMAL’s “Mornings on the Mall”

WMAL “Mornings on the Mall” co-host Mary Walter has announced she’s leaving the station.

Walter took to Twitter Friday morning to state that she was stepping down after that day’s show.

Walter was first teamed with Brian Wilson in early 2017 for “Mornings on the Mall”. She and co-host Vince Coglianese were named to the TALKERS Magazine Heavy Hundred in both 2019 and 2020.

She previously had two stints with WKXW-FM (NJ 101.5), along with stops at WCTC, WHAS and WTKU-FM.

Her career began with her winning a tryout contest at NJ 101.5.

  1. Interesting the majority of stories about are cut and paste from probably a wmal press release. No mention of Mary Walter. I thought she was broadcasting from home for a while now thanks to covid. She has a role she does well but sometimes the morning job was cringe worthy. I’ve been in radio in a previous life and can relate to what she is going thru now.
