September 30 will be the last day of operations for NBC Sports Northwest. The Portland Trail Blazers are taking their broadcast to Root Sports, and without those games, NBC Sports Northwest is not viable.
The move doesn’t just impact television. Rip City Radio 620 is also losing a local show. The Brian Noe Show was produced by the television network and aired on the radio station. As of yesterday, the show is off the air.
Noe, who writes for BSM, says that he doesn’t know for sure if the long term plans are less local programming for 620. That appears to be the case at least for now though. Rip City Radio’s website lists The Doug Gottlieb Show as airing in Noe’s former time slot.
Brian Noe joined NBC Sports Northwest, and Rip City Radio by proxy, in July of 2018. He remains a part of FOX Sports Radio’s weekend team.
As for Rip City Radio 620, the station is not without local programming entirely. Travis Demers and Chad Doing remain in afternoon drive. Justin Meyers continues to host Rip City Mornings.
