Andrew Catalon Pays Tribute To Joe Benigno In Jets Loss

There was nothing pretty about the Jets’ performance on Sunday. The team got absolutely demolished by their rivals, the New England Patriots. If Joe Benigno were still on WFAN, we certainly would have heard the phrase “oh the pain” on Monday afternoon.

Joe Benigno isn’t on WFAN anymore, but that doesn’t mean Jets fans couldn’t benefit from a little catharsis. Andrew Catalon stepped in to cover for the New York sports radio icon and he didn’t wait a day to do it.

During the fourth quarter, the Jets’ rookie runningback Michael Carter fumbled the ball with the team already down big. As the game went to break, Catalon said “as one Jets fan would say, ‘Oh, the pain!’”.

WFAN writer Lou DiPietro caught the tribute. “All that was missing was a ‘how ‘bout that’ for Catalon to go full Benigno,” he noted.
