SEC Network Continues Christmas Yule Log Tradition

When you think of the best-known songs of the holiday season, chances are “Jingle Bells,” “Silent Night,” and “O Come All Ye Faithful” are amongst the first to spring to mind. For SEC football fans, those songs may be special, but they aren’t as special as “Yea Alabama!,” “Rocky Top,” or the “Aggie War Hymn.” That is why the SEC Network started a tradition in 2014 that combined both genres of music.

For the eighth Christmas in a row, the conference network will present its SEC Network Yule Log. The two-hour presentation will feature SEC fight songs and holiday music played over a video of a crackling fire.

Families across the deep south can dig through stockings and open presents to the regionally appropriate soundtrack starting at 6 AM with a replay at 8 AM.

SEC Network Yule Log is part of a two-day marathon of network originals. Other shows on the schedule for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day include SEC Storied, Saturdays in the South, and True South.

A press release from ESPN promises appearances from SEC Network alums and personalities including Paul Finebaum, Marcus Spears, Greg McElroy, Dari Nowkah, and Peter Burns.
