ESPN Signs NBA Reporter Cassidy Hubbarth To Multi-Year Extension

As the NBA enters the 2022 All-Star Weekend, ESPN has re-signed one of its top reporters covering the league to a multi-year contract extension.

On Friday, the network announced that Cassidy Hubbarth has agreed to a new deal. She’ll continue her work as a reporter during ESPN and ABC’s NBA telecasts, while also hosting the network’s digital NBA pregame show, Hoop Streams, which can be viewed on ESPN’s social media platforms in addition to the ESPN app. Hubbarth also appears across network studio programming, including SportsCenter, Get Up, and First Take.

Hubbarth occasionally hosts those aforementioned shows as well, also working as a host and anchor for ESPN/ABC’s college football studio coverage and WNBA telecasts on ESPN. During the 2019-20 NBA season which was shut down then restarted during the COVID-19 pandemic, she was one of the few reporters allowed to work inside the Orlando “bubble” where the end of the season and playoffs resumed.

Joining ESPN in 2010, Hubbard hosted digital college football, college basketball, and NBA programming on ESPN3 before moving to NBA Tonight and NBA Coast to Coast for the network. Additionally, she’s hosted an all-female NBA podcast with Ramona Shelburne and Chiney Ogwumike titled The Hoop Collective, and Sneaker Center on ESPN+. Prior to her ESPN tenure, Hubbarth worked for Fox Sports South, Big Ten Network, and Comcast SportsNet Chicago.

“I’m so appreciative to ESPN for the ongoing opportunity to grow, adapt and reinvent myself as a broadcaster,” Hubbard said in ESPN’s official announcement.

“When I came to ESPN in 2010, I thought my dreams had been realized, but the past 12 years have shown me I get to realize new dreams every day at ESPN. It’s a privilege to cover the NBA – the league that shaped me as a sports fan – and I hope fans see my passion for the sport and my gratitude when they watch me for years to come.”
